Most of us have heard of the 2017 4chan Alien in the Desert Photo, even the 2018 4chan Alien in the Garage Photo.
Today, I am proud to present to you, the 2025 4chan Alien Photo.

Introducing, the Lost 2025 4chan Alien Thread
On Monday, May 5th, 2025, at 10:18 PM EST, an Anonymous 4chan user shared an image under a post, titled “DELETED SOON,” to the /pol/ board, with the caption:
“They call them Stranded fish
They come from the deep ocean
They stay in the dark
They die in the light”
What was publicly known before this investigation:
On May 6, 2025, at 7:51am EST, a user named u/RealPublius posted this image on the r/AlienBodies subreddit, on a post titled “Where is this from?”.
The user supplied no additional details, and commenters likewise failed to identify an original source.
Roughly five and a half months later, on October 24, 2025, at 1:38 pm EST, a now-banned user made a post titled “Anyone know the origins of this photo?, including the same image. In the description box, the user said “Back when I use to frequent old image boards someone shared this random picture and to me it looks a little too real for my liking.”
Q & A with u/RealPublius
Q: Where did you first see this image?
A: My brother sent me that he image… he found it on 4chan… and he nor I have found the original source of it.Q: Are you active in r/Aliens community ?
A: I don’t make a lot of posts in r/aliens or r/ufos... Not really my interest.Q: So, if this image came from your brother, why didn’t he post it?
A: My brother is convinced it is real, and he didn’t want to post it, so I posted it instead.
A: My brother told me straight up not to post it because they will take it down, so of course I posted it.Q: Why did your brother screen capture the thread with the image of the alien?
A: He’s a big alien/ufo buff. My brother is stupid meticulous about this sh** because he was obsessed with the 2017 [4chan alien photo].Q:How did people react when you shared the image?
A: It was really strange, everyone [on reddit] immediately started clowning on me.Q: Where did you post the image?
A: I posted that picture on r/Aliens and the post got taken down.
A: When r/Aliens took it down…. it had some traction…. and lots of memes.
A: I then posted it in r/AlienBodies, and that one did not get taken down
Another Redditor told me this photo got him Banned from Reddit, completely independent of the u/RealPublius
What the data on the left of the 2025 4Chan Alien Photograph could mean:
The below table attempts to explain the data we are seeing on the left of the original photo.
Most valuable info from the data table above:
The number “01032001” could be interpretted as the alleged date the photo was captured. This would be January 3rd 2001, or March 1st, 2001.
The address “S.A. Cali. 0050023” can be interpretted as in Southern Area, or San Andres California.
Possible Connection to a Reddit Whistleblower
If we take a look at this mysterious Reddit thread “From the late 2000s to the mid-2010s, I worked as a molecular biologist for a national security contractor in a program to study Exo-Biospheric-Organisms (EBO).” (which, yes, the original poster never “verified” their credentials), a user made an attempt to explain the properties of the skin of Grey aliens. In describing their skin morphology, he said…
“The grey skin… doesn’t provide effective protection against temperature changes, but it does offer adequate protection against the passage of liquids. “
Once again, refering to the quote from the 2025 4chan Alien thread, “They Call them Stranded fish. They come from the deep ocean. They stay in the dark. They die in the light.”
Possible Connection to the 4chan UFO Construction Facility in the Ocean Whistleblower
On Monday Apr 24th, 2023, an anonymous user on 4chan created a whistleblower thread, in which he stated that UFOs are created by a mobile construction-facility that hides in the ocean.
Once again, refering to the quote from the 2025 4chan Alien thread, “They call them Stranded fish. They come from the deep ocean. They stay in the dark. They die in the light.”
