The Story Behind the Photograph
In 1991, Robert Colee was working at his telecommunications company, Global Communications Group, in Georgia, with his business partner John Sullivan when a shipment of RCA power supplies arrived damaged.
They took out a Polaroid camera to document the condition of the equipment for an insurance claim. During that process, Sullivan accidentally snapped a photograph inside the lab.
When the Polaroid developed, the photo appeared to show a large mantis-like being standing in the room, though neither man remembered seeing anything peculiar at the time.
Colee interpreted the figure as resembling a mantis-like being, whereas Sullivan, the one who snapped the photograph, was reportedly more skeptical. According to Colee, he kept the Polaroid displayed in his office for a period afterward, while the two men continued to disagree about what it showed.
Colee has described the laboratory as containing electronic equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, communications equipment, computers, and radios.
He has speculated that the electromagnetic conditions may have allowed the camera to register something invisible to the naked-eye, and even entertained the possibility that they may have inadvertently produced a “portal” of some kind.
While the photograph is dated 8/14/1991, I have not been able to verify whether this represents the date the photograph was taken, the date it was developed, or some other date associated with the image.
